ADDICTIONS

I'm back o😁. I hope I was missed

Howdy lovely people, it's been a while but ain't we all busy?

Anyway our topic of interest today is ADDICTIONS.

According to Wikipedia, Addiction is a brain disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences.

Not all of us are good at English so simply put, Addiction is a repeated act of doing a particular thing be it negative or positive and also has it's own consequences.

When people hear the word addicton, the first thing that comes to mind is "drugs". So I would like to clear the air, not every addict is a drug addict. For instance, I used to be a sucker for phones. I can't stay five minutes without touching my phone. You can just imagine. There are other things I'm actually addicted to but I'm working on it and I'm glad that I'm finally finding my way out of them.

Other Addictions include:
~Gambling Addiction
~Sex Addiction
~Phone Addiction
~Internet Addiction
~Food Addiction
~Video game Addiction
~Caffeine Addiction and so on.

Research has shown that there are four factors that are attributed to addictions. They are:

Compulsion
Craving
Consequences
Control

We can call them the 4Cs.
**Compulsion is when an individual has an overpowering urge to fuel or continue wallowing in their Addiction. It may seem okay at the beginning but as the addicton goes on it becomes a compulsive habit.

**Craving
Just as the word implies, it is when the addict refuses to do without it. Sometimes they can't even live.

**Consequences
Addictions come with a lot of consequences but then even if the addict knows this, he is she can't get out of it.

**Control
Aishhhhhh. This is when nothing can be done. The addict has no control over his or her actions.

Recently, I was in a class and the speaker was an Addict survivor. She mentioned that she had come a long way to finally get out of the habit. I got a lot of tips from her and I'm going to share it with you.

CAN ADDICIONS BE OVERCOMED?
The answer is Yes.
Firstly you have to identify that you have a problem (addicton). If you didon know then it can't be solved.

Secondly, seek help from your creator. He alone can help you in your time of need and worry. Also you can confidently in someone and it has to be someone you trust, some som who is discreet.

Thirdly, your association. Association is everything. When you associate yourself with people who add to your problem, you fall out of place. You don't necessarily need to avoid them but you can distance yourself. Remember you are going through a healing process.

And lastly, try not to worry. Believe in yourself and in your maker and everything will be alright.

The only positive addicton is your maker πŸ˜‰.

I guess I'll stop here and I hope you gained something. Don't forget to hit the SUSCRIBE button to get more from us.

I love y'all. Till next time

Dese.

IMPERFECTIONS

Have you ever gone on Social media, particularly WhatsApp and decide that you'll use a few moments to just go through statuses. You come across things that make you cringe, some make you happy, some make you sad and some brings out an ugly head that will just weaken your mind and break your self esteem. Very crazy indeed. From there you start asking yourself questions that can either build you up or bring you down. Everytime I create a new post on my blog, I go through a lot of doubts asking myself if it's good enough or if people actually read what I post or if it even creates a spark in someone's mind to keep pushing (Pushing PπŸ˜‚) and guess what, if the negative thought supercedes the positive, I'll just tell myself, "Wo, just give up abegggi" and to think I actually do itπŸ™‚. There's this song that lives rent-free in my head. I heard it from a Disney cartoon I watched years ago. "Look at me,  I would never pass for a perfect bride Or a perfect d...

BACK FROM THE EDGE

I give up on writing.  Really.  It's not what it used to be.  It no longer feels warm.  I remember my first time on Wattpad and how butterflies formed in my belly when I read different stories, and I thought  "Ah, wouldn't it be nice if someone else could have a taste of this feeling of bliss"?  This was how my love story began until I was swayed into the arms of another in search of a solution to my many problems.  A journey of hatred and suffocation started.  Why, you may ask?  Well, I won't mince words when giving my answer. It's too accurate to missπŸ˜‚ That which I once held dear became a bitter experience.  It tore the garment of my soul!  It gave me the feeling of an American male teenager who has parents who are always at loggerheads.  No comfort.  No solace.  No calm .  Just a space filled with darkness as thick as a forest.  I used to live for writing.  It was the bane of my existence.  It ...

Reality Sucks

Yes Yes It sucks and I mean it.  Most times, we can't come to terms with happenings around us. We tend to dwell more in our minds and heads, not really caring if we are doing it right or not. I for one know what it's like prolly because I wallow in fantasies a lot but then if you keep on drowning yourself in your thoughts, you're paving ways for depression. Let's all come to terms with the saying that nothing lasts forever. Reality brings you out from the fantasy wall you've built into a world that's uncomprehending. This topic came from a thought in my head and boy did it take me a while to find words to give birth to this piece. For the first time since I started this blog, I had a writer's block and that's when it dawned on me that nothing is actually perfect. Things don't go smoothly all the time. Your reality might be scary, weird, blurry, confusing but that's what makes it reality . It's not a bed of Roses. In reality, shit happens. In...
